O Boy! Save this words (Allah will benefit you with these). Save commandments of Allah, he will save you. Save commandments of Allah, you will have mercy on him.
When you ask for something, ask Allah. When you seek help, ask Allah for help. The pen has been removed and the papers have dried.
I swear by the entity in whose hands my soul is! Know that if all the ummahs (creations) come together to benefit you, they won’t be able to do you any good except what Allah has ordained for you.
On the other hand, if they come together to harm you, they will not be able to harm you beyond what Allah has ordained for you.- [Narration:6]

O boy! Shall I not tell you something by which Allah will benefit you? He said, “Yes, O Messenger of Allah!” The Prophet (ﷺ) said: If you obey Allaah, then He will protect you. If you obey the commandments of Allah, then you will have mercy on him. You will know Allah in the times of your happiness, then He will know you in the times of your trouble. When you ask for something, ask Allah. When you seek help, ask Allah for help. What will happen in life has been written.
Know! If all the people come together to benefit you, they won’t be able to do you any good except what Allah has ordained for you. On the other hand, if they all want to harm you, they won’t be able to harm you except what Allah has ordained for you.

Strength on calamity
[31] Narrated by Zayd Ibn Aslam. Hdhrat Abu Ubaydah (ra) surrounded the enemy in Syria and feared loss from them. Then he wrote a letter to Hadhrat Umar (ra). Hadhrat Umar (ra) wrote in reply-
Be aware! Whenever a calamity befalls a believer, Allah removes it. Remember, one-time hardship can never precede on two-time happiness. Because Allah Almighty says-
O you who believe! Be patient, compete with patience and be strong in defense. And be careful of (your duty to) Allah, that you may be successful.-Surah Al ‘Imran: 200 [narration:31]
[32] Hadhrat Yazid Rakkashi (rh) said- I heard Hadhrat Anas (ra) say- When Hadhrat Yunus (as) was in the belly of a fish, he made a request (to Allah) with the following Kalima-
O Allah! There is no God but You, Glorified be You! Truly, I have been of the wrongdoers.
This prayer reaches the throne of Allah very quickly. The angels said, O Lord! It sounds like a familiar but weak word and it is coming from an unfamiliar place. He said, “Do you not recognize it?” The angels said, O Lord! Who is he? He said, “He is my servant Yunus.”
The angels said, “Yunus, your servant, whose deeds and acceptable prayers reach you all the time?” The angels said, O Lord! Would you not have mercy on him, and save him from this danger – while he would remember you in times of happiness?
He (Allah) said, “Of course.” Then he ordered the fish, and the fish threw him ashore.-[narration:32]
Yaqtinah
Hadhrat Abu Huraira (ra) said: When the fish threw Hadhrat Yunus (as) to ashore. Then Allaah created ‘Yaqtinah’ for him (to shadow). Ibn Qusayt said, “I asked Abu Huraira, ‘What is Yaqtinah?’ He said, pumpkin tree.
Hadhrat Abu Harairah (ra) also said: Allah created a wild goat for him and made him intimate with her. The goat grazed on the ground and ate the leaves and grass so that it would not suffer for the leaves and grass. And the goat used to make her drink milk in the morning and evening. Even he was completely healed. – [Narration: 32]
Poems of Umayya Ibnus Saalt
[33] In the pre-Islamic era, Umayya Ibnus Saalt recited a poem to this effect:
Allaah, in His mercy, has planted for him the seed of gourd.
Had Allah not done so, he would have remained weak and feeble. – [Narration: 33]
Isme azam
[34] Hadhrat Muhammad ibn Sad narrates from his father and he narrates from his grandfather. He said, “We were sitting with the Prophet (ﷺ).” He said to us, “Shall I not inform you or tell you about a supplication which, if any of you is afflicted with hardship or misfortune in the world, reciting it will save you from it?” The disciples said, “Of course.” He said, “That is Junnun, that is the supplication of Hadhrat Yunus (as).”
There is no God but You, Glorified be You! Truly, I have been of the wrongdoers.- [narration:34]
The help of Allah in the first stage of danger
[35] Hadhrat Yunus ibn Maisarah bin Halbas (rh) said: Qarun met Hadhrat Yunus (as) in the depths of the sea. Then qarun called Hadhrat Yunus (as) and said- O Yunus! If you repent to Allah, then you will find Allah with you in the first step. Then Yunus (as) said to him: But what forbade you to repent? Qarun said, “The matter of my repentance has been related to my cousin [Musa (as)].” And he does not accept my repentance. – [Narration: 35]
Remembering Allah with joy and sorrow
[36] Hadhrat Saeed Ibn Hasan said: When Hadhrat Yunus (as) went into the belly of a fish, he thought that he was dead. Then he shook his legs, and realized that he was still alive. Then he got up quickly and stood up for prayer. And his supplication said-
O Allah! I have made a place for your worship a mosque where no one has built before. – [Narration: 36]
[37] Hadhrat Saeed Ibn Zubayr (Rah) Allah’s word
If he had not been one of those who glorified Allah (he would have stayed in its belly till the Day of Resurrection).- surah as-saffat 143
Said in context-
If he had not been praying as-salah.
Dua Yunus for liberation from any difficult situation
[38] Hadhrat Amr ibn Maymun (rh) said, “I heard Hahdrat ibn Mas’ud (ra) say in Baitul Maal (treasure house of muslim country) – when the fish swallowed Hadhrat Yunus (as) and carried him to the depths of the sea.” Then he heard the glorification of stone in the depths of the sea.
Then he cried out to Allah from that darkness where three 3 darknesses were upon him. Darkness in the stomach of the fish. The darkness of the night and the deep darkness of the sea.
There is no God but You, Glorified be You! Truly, I have been of the wrongdoers
(Then Allah subhanahu said)-_
Then We cast him ashore in the open while he was ill. (Surat as-saffat: 145)

[56] Narrated by Hadhrat Muhammad Ibn Ali. The Prophet (ﷺ) taught Hadhrat Ali (ra) a dua, which he used to recite in times of anxiety. Later he also taught his children-
O entity! Who existed before all things and the Creator of all things! O entity who will exist after all. Fulfill this need of mine.

Another one supplication
[58] Imam Shabi (rh) said, I was sitting next to Ziyad one day. At that time one person was arrested. It looked like he was going to be killed. But he quietly read something. (And he was released). I asked, what did you read? He said-

The advice of Abu Darda (ra)
[59] A man said to Hadhrat Abu Darda (ra): Give me some advice. He said,
“You will remember Allah in times of happiness, and He will remember you in times of sorrow.” When you remember death, you think you are one of them. When your mind desires something in the world, it will think of its consequences. – [Narration:78]
Even difficulties become easy
[60] Narrated by Abu Amr Ibn al-Ala. I fled in fear of Hajjaj. One day I was on the roof of a house in Yemen. Then I heard a person reading a poem –
a lot of times people think something is a problem, but it is easy to get out of it like untying a rope.
Then I came out of the house and a man said that Hajjaj had died. I am not sure if I was happier to be released from captivity, or to die the death of Hajjaj.-[Narration:83]

Allah is the helper of His servant – story of Danniel (as)
[61] Narrated by Hadhrat Abdullah Ibn Huzayl. Bukht Nasar brought two lions and threw them into the holl and brought Danniel (as) and left them between the lions. But the lions did not attack him. After he has been there for a long time, he naturally needs food and drink according to his biological needs. Then, through revelation, Allah told the Prophet Armia (as) to prepare food and drink for Danniel (as).
He said, O my Lord! I live in Baitul Muqaddas and Danniel (as) is in Babylon, far away in Iraq. How do I deliver food and drink there? Allah said, O Armia! Do what I command you. I will make arrangements to get you there with the prepared food soon.
Armia (as) made food. Then a man was sent who took Armia (as) to the bank of the well with food and drink. Daniel (as) asked from inside, who is here? Armia (as) introduced himself and said, I am Armia. Danniel (as) said, “Why have you come here?” Armia said, “Your Lord has sent me to you.” Danniel (as) said, He remembers me? Armia (as) said- Yes. Then Daniel (a) said-
All praise is due to Allah, Whom He does not forget when He remembers. All praise is due to Allah, to Whomsoever He calls, He responds. All praise is due to Allah, in Whom He trusts, He does not push him to another. All praise is due to Allah, Who rewards good deeds. All praise is due to Allah, Who gives salvation through patience.
All praise is due to Allah, Who saves us from danger. All praise is due to Allah, Who gives us strength when our faith and zeal are weakened. All praise is due to Allah, Who is the only source of hope after all our means have been exhausted. – [Narration:84]
Remember death when you face the problems
[62] Hadhrat Abdul Aziz bin Umar bin Abdul Aziz said, “My father said:
You will remember death when you face the problems of the world. Then it will seem light and easy to you. – [Narration:86]
[63] Maslama bin Abdul Malik said:
Whose thoughts in this world will be less, his thoughts will be less in the Hereafter. – [Narration:87]
[64] Azam bin Fazl (rh) said: I asked Zuhair Al Babi, how are you? He said, “Since your return, I have turned my face away from the troubles and tense of this world and are heading towards the Hereafter.”
Hassan said, he was suffering from orchiltiss, asthma and blindness. And he used to say – these are just the troubles of this world. Do whatever Allah wills. – [Narration:88]
Story of a madman
[65] Muhammad ibn Husayn said: I saw a madman who went into a mosque in a state of restlessness in the company of children. Entering there, he sat down in a corner. When the boys left, he got up and said-
When a thing of yours becomes narrow, you wait for breadth. Because the harder the issue, the closer it is to the solution. – [Narration 92]
Allah cares for His servants, and will do so
[66] Husain ibn Abdur Rahman said that once the Minister of State was dissatisfied with him and expelled him from the country. This made him very worried. It was at this time that one of his companions recited this poem to him one night.
Keep favourable view on your Lord, Who has made you accustomed (to His grace) and straightened your crookedness till yesterday. The being who has fulfilled all your needs till yesterday will do the same tomorrow.
As soon as he heard this, all his tense were removed and he gave him ten thousand dirhams. – [Narration: 93]
Stay optimistic
[67] Muhammad ibn Abi Raja said: Once I fell into a difficult crisis and anxiety. Suddenly one day I found this qoute under my son’s bed-
O depressed and anxious! Surely there will be no such worries. Do not despair, think that Allah has removed the danger.
As soon as I read it, my tense went away and in a few days the problem also disappeared. – [Narration: 94]
[68] Someone Narrates. Once I became anxious with difficult tense. I fell asleep one night and saw in a dream a man saying-
Resist distree with patience. Because there is no day when you will not see anything unpleasant. Sometimes a person in distress smiles, but in the fire of danger his heart burns.
I learned it in a dream and woke up and recited it several times. Not long after that, Allah removed the crisis. – [Narration: 95]
Supplication for the release from captivity
[69] Tubah Ambari said: Yusuf bin Umar forced me to do something. Then back then he actually took me prisoner. I was confined to a room for a long time and even my hair turned white due to old age. One day I saw in a dream, a man dressed in white says- O Tubah! You have been a prisoner for a long time! I said yes. He said, “Keep reciting this supplication.”
I am praying to Allah for His forgiveness, well-being and protection from all fears and crises in this world and in the Hereafter.
I recited this supplication three times in a dream. I woke up and brought the ink, pen and lamp with the prison guard and wrote this supplication. After praying some of (nafal) salah, I continued to recite the dua till Fajr.
After the Fajr prayer, a guard knocked on the door. When the door was opened, he said, where is Tubah Ambari? People showed up here. Then I was tied up and taken to yusuf. Yusuf said, O Tubah! I have been holding you captive for a long time. I said yes. Then yusuf told him to let him go.
Then I taught this supplication to another prisoner and he too was released in a few days. – [Narration: 111]
Happiness and sorrow are not permanent
[60] Abdullah ibn Hisham az-Zimari (rh) said: Once some people dug a grave and found a stone. And it had the following words written on it:
Be patient in the danger of the age. Because this is how the era ends.
Once happiness and once sorrow. Neither sorrow nor happiness is permanent.- [Narration: 113]
